Day Twenty Nine

Today, our school arranged us for some industrial visit. We were arranged to one Chinese company that handles property. When we arrived, there are four people there to greet us, and one of them is out guidance, the manager of marketing, if I’m not wrong.

The manager took us around the condominium that they have built. It was built in five years ago. Although the space is large, many condos, but the maintenance is not good. During the introduction, mr. wee gave us some brief description of the building equipments. For examples, the sump pump in the basement, the ducts, the sprinklers, the lights requirement, the dry water riser and the wet water risers.

Then, the manager took us to an unfurnished unit. An unfurnished unit means the unit does not have a single furniture at all. It only has simple installation and basic requirements of the unit. The unit is spacious and has a nice views. I asked the manager about the pricing of the unit. For every meter square, it is about 5k-6k Yuan. Then I compared, the price is much more lower than Singapore. In Singapore, like in orchard road, for every meter square foot is around 2k SGD. I was also told that in China, normally it takes two generation to pay off the installments.
Regarding whether a foreigner can buy a unit in China and is it easy to start business here, he told me that foreigner can buy unit here, and start company here. However, they need to have good relationship with the people inside, and require a nasty procedure.
