Day Six =)

Today, we woke up very early because yesterday we travelled too much and was very tired. We went for our “branch” (morning breakfast + lunch) at 11am and had fried noodles. Then, we went to a place called YangMao which took us around 30minutes bus journey from our campus.
We reached the place and separated into two groups. The guy group and the girl group. We, the guy group, decided to walk around and see if there is any foot reflexology. After like half an hour searching, we decided to give up and enjoy our dessert with a lot of disappointment. Finally, it’s three o’clock, the time we are supposed to meet up with the girl group at Mc. Donald. The girl group decided to continue shopping, but us, the guy group, decided to go back to our hostels to do our journals.

Because the bus is always packed and the lousy skills they have in controlling the bus, we decided to take taxis instead.

We met a kind taxis driver and we try to approach him for some cultural information, since he’s the local here.

Here is the conversation we had with him.
At first, I tried to fasten my seat belt, he stopped me and told me that the belt is dusty, also by this action; he was confused whether I am a local or a foreigner. So, I approached him and asked him why we do not have to fasten the seat belt, and asked whether the law has action against this. Then the driver told us actually it is required to fasten the seat belt, but the culture here, the people here, do not have the habits to fasten it. So, I asked, if the police saw it, will they take action against it? Out of coincidence, there was a police car beside us. Then he asked us to notice the policeman whether he fasten his seat belt or not. We were shocked that the policeman did not fasten his seat belt too. For this, we laughed.

Then, I asked him. “Shifu, why do the people here drive so fast, talk so loud, and look so fierce?” He then answered to me that actually this is their culture. Probably their character is a bit more impatience. So we were like … Ohhhh… I see…..

During the conversation, we exchange our knowledge we had with him. We learnt from him that Wuhan is an average city. Not very rich, not very poor, just nice. He also told us that Singapore is a very nice city. Blue sky, non-polluted air, but he never been there before. We were then very proud of our country. Finally, we reached our campus. The fare was 20.60 Yuan, but the Shifu gave us a discount and charged us at 20 Yuan only. For this, we learnt another thing again! Approach the strangers, talk to them in a nice manner, and exchange your culture with them, they will treat you good too!

After came back, we had our journal, and continue with the daily things we do. Eat, Work, and Play. Finally, go to sleep soon.
